Day 0 – Sunday July 7, 2013

Sea BLyS at Podickory Point - evening before departure

Sea BLyS at Podickory Point – evening before departure

Today Sunday was our final preparation for the big trip to New England. The chores for the day were checking the engine fluids, replacing a burnt out navigation light, inflating the fenders that had lost air over the winter, and storing an amazing amount of stuff we think we need for this trip.  Amazingly Adrienne found room for everything.  Katherine was a fantastic helper, picking us up and bringing us to the boat and lending us her car while she studied.  Of course, we realized there were a number of things we still needed and we canvassed Annapolis to acquire all the remaining items.  No day is complete without a trip to West Marine.

We have entered all the waypoints from Annapolis to Long Island Sound into our Garmin GPS and completed our final route planning.  Now we just need good weather.

Cheaspeake Bay from Sea BLyS in early evening

Chesapeake Bay from Sea BLyS in early evening

Today was 90 degrees and muggy, with a light rain tonight..  The forecast for tomorrow is hazy, hot and humid with afternoon thunderstorms or showers.  Our plan is to be in Chesapeake City in the early afternoon, if not earlier.

The adventure starts tomorrow morning!

Jim
